Relief Personal Assistant

Hours: Relief personal assistant to cover holidays and any sickness, this is to cover 3-4 hours over a weekend when required. The Role I am looking for a caring, reliable, and enthusiastic Personal Assistant to provide support to my 6-year-old autistic son through Self-Directed Support (SDS). My son has limited speech and can present with challenging behaviours at times. We are seeking someone who has experience working with autistic children and understands how to support children with additional needs in a positive, patient, and respectful way. The role will involve supporting him to access and enjoy activities within the community, helping him build confidence, independence, and social experiences. Activities may include:

• Soft play
• Parks and outdoor activities
• Swimming
• Cinema trips
• Other community-based activities suited to his interests and needs
  
  Experience supporting autistic children and/or children with additional support needs
• Understanding of challenging behaviour and positive behaviour support strategies
• Full UK driving licence and access to a reliable vehicle
• Ability to work independently and build a positive relationship with the child and family
• Reliable, trustworthy, and flexible
Desirable:
• Relevant childcare, education, health and social care qualifications
• Experience supporting children with limited speech or communication differences
