Sheltered Housing Warden
Sheltered Housing Service – Rae’s Close, Stromness
Hours are offered on an as and when required basis
Relief
£15.94 per hour
The above amount includes Distant Islands Allowance.
A shift allowance will be paid for unsocial hours worked, where appropriate.
You will be reporting to the Team Manager (Housing Support).
Your working pattern is on an as and when required basis. The Service operates on seven day shift working and a shift allowance is payable for weekend working hours. Opportunities to undertake sleep-in cover may be available, for which a sleep-in allowance is payable.
The purpose of this role is to assist in the provision of housing support to people living within Orkney Islands Council’s Sheltered Housing.
You will need experience of working with adults with support needs and ideally of working with older people. In addition, you should have excellent communication skills, be a good listener and be well organised and reliable. You should be committed to supporting, encouraging and enabling tenants to make informed choices and maintain their independence and personal dignity. You should be able to work alone and also as part of a team, and uphold the highest levels of confidentiality.

This post is a regulated role with adults and requires Level 2 Disclosure with PVG scheme membership.
