Full Job Description
- Join our Platform Engineering team in York or Manchester to help streamline the delivery of our SaaS product offerings.
- Work within an agile, autonomous team that develops and supports internal backend tooling to help our engineers ship services to customers.
- Champion and promote best practices for safely and easily delivering SaaS services into production with zero downtime.
- Apply and expand your skills while learning and growing with the team.
- Focus on solving problems rather than building features.
- Pair with colleagues to build rapid prototypes and highly testable, well-tested platform capabilities.
- Lead technical discussions and projects.
- Mentor more junior engineers.
- Practice and coach others on clean code, refactoring, TDD, and BDD.
- Contribute to the growth and expansion of our business and the evolution of our technical stack through the implementation and adoption of new technologies. Technologies:

Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to craft well-architected, easy-to-reason-about applications. - Experience writing backend microservices; experience with Rust or other strongly typed languages is a plus.
- Experience writing library code or contributing to open-source style projects.
- Comfortable writing and maintaining documentation for use by other teams.
- Strong focus on writing tests, with a clear understanding of how and why different kinds of tests should be developed and run.
- Experience with deployment tools and technologies such as Docker, Kubernetes, Terraform, or Harness is advantageous.
- Positive energy, enthusiasm, and motivation to solve big problems and get things done.
- Willingness to show your work and learn new things.
- Knowledge of or willingness to learn Rust, ideally with prior experience building developer-focused tooling and software.
- Demonstrable experience in at least one strongly typed programming language and one dynamic programming language, ideally Rust and Node.js.
- Experience with public cloud providers, ideally AWS.
- Experience with CI/CD tooling and pipelines.
- Experience with observability platforms such as Grafana is advantageous.
