We are looking for a confident, flexible and nurturing residential childcare worker to join our experienced and committed staff team. The work provides opportunities to make a real difference to the lives of children and young people in our care by building lasting relationships and contributing to meaningful care and support plans.

Our service promotes relationship-based practice that is child- centred and trauma informed.

We recognise the importance of regular professional supervision and provide significant training and development opportunities to our staff within Falkirk Council.

Our houses have been consistently highly rated by the Care Inspectorate, and we are keen to improve the experiences of the young people in our care and to develop the service to meet the expectations of “The Promise”.

Staff are required to be able to register unconditionally with SSSC as a residential childcare worker.

You must have the ability to be mobile across the Council area.

You will work 30.83 hours per week.

Staff will receive their rota pattern a minimum of 6 weeks in advance with a guarantee of every second weekend off (Sat and Sun) and a generous annual leave package.

Staff will carry out the vast majority of their duties at Wallace Crescent Children’s Home, but where needed could be asked to work across both residential homes. Peripatetic working on a flexible rota basis including weekends, public holidays, evenings and nights. The rota pattern will be based on the needs of the service, covering annual leave, absence and training.

This post is temporary until December 2026 to cover sick leave.

If you are the successful candidate, you will be required to gain/maintain PVG scheme membership, the cost of which will be met by the preferred candidate.
