  • Supporting children and young people with daily routines, independence and personal development.
  • Planning and taking part in fun, engaging activities after school, at weekends and during school holidays.
  • Supporting young people to access community activities, develop life skills and build confidence.
  • Creating a warm, safe and nurturing home environment where young people feel valued and supported.
  • Building positive, trusting relationships that promote emotional wellbeing and resilience.
  • Encouraging positive behaviour using therapeutic, relationship-based approaches.
  • Working closely with education and clinical colleagues to provide consistent, holistic support.
  • Maintaining accurate records and helping deliver the highest standards of care and safeguarding.

    No previous experience? No problem. If you have compassion, resilience and a genuine desire to help others, we'll provide a comprehensive induction, fully funded training and ongoing development, including support to achieve the qualifications required for SSSC registration., We're looking for people with compassion, resilience and a genuine desire to help young people succeed.
  • Experience in residential care, education or supporting children is welcomed, but it's not essential. If you've worked in hospitality, retail, the armed forces, outdoor education, customer service, youth work or another people-focused role, your transferable skills could make you an excellent Residential Childcare Worker. You'll be someone who:
  • Is patient, caring and resilient, even when faced with challenges.
  • Builds positive, trusting relationships with children and young people.
  • Is enthusiastic about helping young people develop confidence and independence.
  • Enjoys being active, creative and supporting a wide range of activities.
  • Works well as part of a supportive team while using initiative when needed.
  • Is committed to safeguarding and promoting the wellbeing of children and young people.
  • Takes pride in creating a safe, nurturing and positive environment where every young person can thrive.
  • Holds a Full UK Driving Licence.

    Falkland House School Perth is an independent residential school for boys and girls aged from 12 - 20. Our young people have a range of Additional Support Needs including emotional and behavioural difficulties and Autistic Spectrum Disorder. We were the first independent school in Scotland (outside of the NAS) to receive accreditation from the National Autistic Society. We have can accommodate up to 24 young people.
