What is the role?

As a Residential Childcare Worker you will support our young people with their daily routines. Getting ready for school, prepping for meal times, after school activities and planning social activities too. What you do each day matters and makes a lasting difference, such as:

• Ensuring our children receive the highest level of support
• Supporting senior staff with timely updates 
• Promoting individuality NOT a "one size fits all" approach
• Completing and updating care plans regularly, including any additional new requirements or targets
• Being part of a warm, homely environment by helping with light housekeeping
• Building strong, meaningful relationships and providing emotional support
• Planning and joining in fun activities like trips to the park, popcorn & movie nights or creative projects and hobbies

What we're looking for?

We're looking for people who genuinely care and want to make that positive difference to a child's future. Warm, patient, a great listener - focused on achieving outcomes for others and taking pride in knowing you are helping to shape someone's life for the better.

• Previous experience is preferred or maybe you have cared for a younger friend or family member
• Ability to work towards SSSC qualifications
• A UK driving licence is essential to use our company cars
• Open to ongoing development and learning with support from your team
• Excellent communication skills both verbally and written
• Someone with the desire to take pride in helping others

A Little About This Home

Woodside Farm is located in the rural village of Coylton in South Ayrshire, close to the seaside towns of Ayr and Prestwick. Our friendly team support our young people to develop strong and positive relationships, to look forward and not back and to prepare for the next steps as they develop and grow in confidnce.

We offer our young people support, acceptance, understanding and praise. Each individual child has their own care plan tailored to their everyday needs and each child is involved in planning targets and achievements with our friendly team. We're a family maybe not by blood but certainly by the love and care we share at Woodside. It’s always a great pleasure when a former resident contacts us to update us on how they are getting on in their life and how well things have panned out for them.
