Retail Business Analyst - Dundee Distribution Centre

• Working closely with Trading and Finance teams to support key business decisions
• Analysing sales, margin, promotions, and category performance to identify commercial opportunities and risks.
• Provide detailed commercial analysis to support trading strategy and operational decision-making.
• Deliver insight and recommendations to support category planning and business performance improvement.
• Monitor trading trends and challenge assumptions through data-led analysis.
• Produce insightful weekly and monthly performance reporting with clear recommendations.
• Support forecasting, budgeting, scenario planning, and commercial planning activities.
• Carry out sensitivity analysis to assess the impact of pricing, promotions, supplier terms, and cost changes.
• Build financial models to evaluate pricing, promotions, commercial investments, and ROI opportunities.
• Monitor and report on key commercial KPIs including sales growth, margin performance, wastage, supplier income, and rebate performance.
• Support supplier negotiations through commercial analysis and performance insight.
• Review supplier agreements, funding models, rebates, and promotional activity to identify opportunities for improvement.
• Improve visibility of trading performance through clear, meaningful, and commercially focused reporting., We proudly serve local communities through our Company Owned SPAR Stores throughout Scotland and operate a distribution network covering countryside to coast, backed by outstanding operational organisation.

You will ideally have experience in:
• Commercial Finance, Finance Analyst, or Business Partnering roles
• Retail, FMCG, Wholesale, or Trading environments
• Educated to degree level, or equivalent relevant experience in Business, Finance, Data Analytics, Economics, or a related discipline.
• Professional qualification or further training in analytics, finance, business analysis, or data visualisation tools is desirable.
You will also bring:
• Strong analytical and numerical skills
• Advanced Excel capability
• Experience with Power BI or similar reporting tools (desirable)
• Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
• A proactive and problem-solving mindset
• The ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
• Strong analytical and numerical skills with excellent attention to detail.
• Experience in Commercial Finance, Finance Analyst, Business Partnering, or related analytical roles.
• Experience within Retail, FMCG, Wholesale, or Trading environments is highly desirable.
