Full Job Description
Road services are looking for enthusiastic road workers to assist generally as part of a team in the maintenance, construction and repair of roads, footpaths and drainage. The postholder is expected to work on his own or under the control of a skilled Roadworker Chargehand and to demonstrate responsibility towards work colleagues and the general public ensuring health and safety is maintained at all times. There is a requirement to participate in standby duties including winter maintenance services and other weather and road related emergency duties. Undertake both manual and driving tasks necessary to carry out the above, To assist in the maintenance, construction and repair of roads, footpaths and drainage to a high standard, within the timescales required to comply with the Council's obligations as the local Roads Authority.

Ideal candidates will have experience of all aspects of road maintenance to include surfacing, drainage, use of light plant and traffic management.
