BAM Nuttall, and through joint ventures with Siemens and Hitachi, have been appointed by Scottish and Southern Electricity Networks (SSEN) Transmission and Eastern Green Links to work on various construction projects across Scotland and the north of England. The projects consist of substations and converter stations.

  • Your mission

    We are looking to employ a Safety Coordination Manager who will be responsible for the following:
  • Report to and support the RSL in safety matters and administration.

  • Assist and Manage, support and guide all safety managers and advisors. In undertaking their duties.

  • Support and analyse the collection of safety data from project

  • Assist in ensuring Ensure the business process are adhered to at all times

  • Keep clear records to comply with company internal and external audit standards.

  • Assist with safety submissions, risk assessments and vendor evaluations.

  • Communicate and promote the health and safety management ethos and concepts.

  • Monitor and review leading and lagging indicators

  • Deliver training.

  • Gather monthly and weekly reports and submit in agreed format.

  • Carry out site safety inspections.

  • Identify areas for improvement and issues

  • Monitor the adequacy of accident reporting

  • Carry out internal audit and support of second line of defence audits

  • Subcontractor review and audit

  • Keep up to date on Health and Safety legislation

  • Communicate, demonstrate and promote BAM ethos and values

  • Be a role model for safe behaviours


  • Who are we looking for?

  • BAM Nuttall Project Management experience

  • Effective knowledge and understanding of Health and Safety

  • Able to communicate at all levels within the project organisation.

  • Able to deliver any health and safety training as instructed by the head of health and safety.

  • Digital acumen required to represent analytical findings

  • Able to act as a team leader.

  • Able to accurately communicate in writing

  • Thorough knowledge of ISO 45001 standards.

  • Business acumen with full understanding of the commercial impact of decisions.

  • Commitment to achieve professional status with IOSH

  • Knowledge and experience of operational activities (overhead, underground and substation) on transmission / distribution networks desirable.
