School Nursing Services 7 / Trainee School Nurse

Job Purpose: Leading, delivering and evaluating universal public health programmes for school-aged children and young people (5 - 19 years) within school and community settings including the planning coordination of the school age immunisation programme. Supporting education colleagues in their role as the Named Person in contributing to the development of the Child Plan through comprehensive assessment using the national practice model.

• Current first level registration
• Specialist Public Health Nurse/School Nursing post registration qualification
• Comprehension of GIRFEC
• A UK Driving License/ ability to travel for work requirements
This position is classified as a regulated role. As such, an Overseas Criminal Record Check may be required depending on your nationality and recent residency history. Specifically, this check will be necessary if you do not meet both of the following criteria:
• You must be a national of the United Kingdom or one of the following countries: Germany, Lithuania, the Netherlands, Portugal, Romania, Hungary, Greece, France, Ireland, Italy, Spain, or Poland.
• You must not have lived or worked in any country outside of the UK or those listed above for a period of three months or more, while aged 18 years or over, within the past five years.

Salary: Qualified School Nurse - £52,845 - £61,466 p.a. Trainees - Up to 12 months prior to completion of training (75% of the top rate at Band 7) = £46,099 p.a. More than one but less than two years prior to completion of training (70% of the top rate at Band 7) = £43,026 p.a. More than two but less than three years prior to completion of training (65% of the top rate at Band 7) = £39,952 p.a. More than three years from completion of training (60% of the top rate at Band 7) = £36,879 p.a.
