Full Job Description

NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde is one of the largest healthcare systems in the UK employing around 40,000 staff in a wide range of clinical and non-clinical professions and job roles. We deliver acute hospital, primary, community and mental health care services to a population of over 1.15 million and a wider population of 2.2 million when our regional and national services are included.

An opportunity has arisen for a part time Secretarial Administrator supporting the children services manager in Renfrewshire. 

The shift pattern is 09.00-12.45 with the hours worked over 5 days (18.75 hours).

The post holder will be responsible for providing comprehensive administrative support to the Children Services Manager, including diary management, arrangement of meetings, preparing agendas, minute taking and prioritising and answering routine correspondence and e-mails as directed. The post-holder works independently for much of the time managing calls, emails, rotas, diary time on behalf of the manager.

The post-holder will often have to respond to conflicting demands whilst managing a varied workload and will be required to use own initiative and judgement in prioritising key and urgent tasks.

The post holder will require to have:

  • Good communication skills
  • Excellent keyboard skills
  • Ability to work well under pressure
  • Customer care focused and good telephone skills, helpful and pleasant  manner
  • Excellent team working skills

The post-holder must be reliable and flexible to meet the needs and demands of the service.
