Full Job Description

Our fantastic Health and Safety Team are looking for an experienced Security & Resilience Advisor to cover our North & Scotland region. The Security & Resilience Advisor will provide specialist advice and support to the property teams and central functions to manage and identify security risks and support with incidents and crisis management. The role will endeavour to support and protect all stakeholders through the application of workplace regulations, identify security risks, investigating security incidents and giving guidance and best practice. It will focus on developing positive working environments that encourage people to work safely because they want to.

What You`ll Be Doing

Carry out regular security reviews of properties identifying physical and operational risks with detailed reports and actions to mitigate for property teams and other support functionsAttend properties or sites as directed by the Group Security and Resilience Manager to provide support during incidents including investigating with written reports and advising on next stepsProvide a single point of contact between law enforcement agencies and property teams during significant incidentsAnalyse all security data and incident reports in given region to identify and prioritise property visits to support property teamsIdentify opportunities to support, coach and train shortfalls in governance of the Security and Incident Management Systems, acting as a custodian for best security practiceLiaise with other support functions to highlight security risks and mitigating actionsIdentify operational constraints in the security and resilience policies, bridging the gap between our perception of `how we
work` vs realityWork with the Group Security and resilience Manager and other business functions to devise new policies and procedures that enhance the safety and security of residence and team members in an ever-changing landscapeSupport the Group Security and Resilience manager in identify security risks and work with the wider safety team and operational teams to implement effective controls and share learning outcomesSupport the Group Security and Resilience Manager in implementation of wider security projects and workstreams, including: - CCTV, incidents of crime, Third Party Security standards & co-ordination, Terrorism threats, Relationships with Police/ University Security TeamsSupport the development and special project teams with clear guidance of the security operating model to ensure that security standards are maintained and delivered at all stages of projectsSupport in the testing of Business Continuity PlansCollaborative working with Group and Regional safety teamBe
available during unsociable/extended hours to support incidents

Experience of working in a security and resilience role, working with Senior TeamsTeam-spirited and proactive with a positive attitude; ability to build credibility with both internal and external stakeholdersPossesses strong interpersonal and communication skills (verbal and written), including negotiating, relationship building & influencingDemonstrates a practical, hands-on approach, willing to take ownership of problems and develop/execute solutionsTrack record of providing commercially focused, professional and pragmatic advice and producing quality work on time and to budgetCapable and experienced in working without supervision, whilst maintaining an awareness of one`s own limitationsGood organisational skills, with the ability to prioritise and work effectively and successfully within demanding timeframesAbility to travel; expected travel is 50-70% of the time.
