Self employed courier / owner driver

Overview

Thistle Couriers LTD is looking for motivated self-employed couriers who have their own van and Hire Reward Insurance to provide collection and delivery services across a variety of industries and locations through the UK.

This is NOT Multi-Drop work.

Duties

• Safely operate your own van vehicle to deliver items to various destinations locally and Nationally
• Plan efficient routes to maximize productivity and meet delivery deadlines
• Handle packages with care, including heavy lifting and secure loading/unloading at warehouses or delivery points
• Communicate clearly with customers upon delivery, providing excellent service and resolving any issues professionally
• Maintain accurate records of deliveries, including signatures, timestamps, and any delivery exceptions
• Conduct routine vehicle checks to ensure safety and compliance with road regulations
• Follow all traffic laws and safety procedures to ensure safe transportation at all times

Skills

• Proven experience as a delivery driver or courier, with a strong understanding of commercial driving practices
• Valid driver’s license suitable for operating a van.
• Ability to perform lifting and manual handling of packages efficiently and safely
• Excellent communication skills to interact confidently with customers and team members
• Familiarity with loading/unloading goods
• Strong organizational skills for route planning and time management
• Knowledge of local roads, traffic patterns, and navigation tools to optimize delivery

Must have 

• Valad UK Driving licence
• Own Van
• Hire Reward Insurance
