Senior Aquatic Ecologist

Experteer Overview In this Senior Aquatic Ecologist role, you contribute expert aquatic ecology input across multidisciplinary projects and nationwide teams. You lead surveys, craft monitoring strategies, and author EcIA-related reports to support infrastructure and environmental initiatives. You work closely with Aquatic Ecology, Water Environment, and other teams to provide coherent, expert guidance for clients. • Coordinate and deliver aquatic ecology surveys for projects Author technical reports and contribute to EcIA documents Develop monitoring strategies and manage aquatic ecology input on projects Perform data analysis and processing to support decision making Oversee survey design, costing, and multidisciplinary collaboration Lead a team of aquatic ecologists across nationwide offices Support broader environmental business and project delivery Tasks Understanding of monitoring techniques for aquatic ecology and related permitting requirements Familiarity with legislation governing aquatic environments, including the Water Framework Directive (WFD) Experience of EcIA/EIA processes from baseline data collection to mitigation design Experience with WFD compliance assessment Full UK driving licence Unknown educational prerequisites unless stated Key requirements hybrid working model career development opportunities AECOM University volunteering days core and personalised benefits flexible working arrangements
