Full Job Description
There are practices that talk about delivering meaningful projects, and then there are practices that genuinely shape cities, transport networks and public spaces for generations.
I'm working exclusively with an internationally recognised architectural practice seeking a Senior Architect or Associate Director to join their Edinburgh studio. This is an opportunity to play a key role within a respected design led business whose portfolio includes some of the most significant regeneration, infrastructure, civic and cultural projects delivered across the UK and internationally.
The Edinburgh team forms an important part of a wider multidisciplinary organisation, giving you access to projects that are often unavailable within the Scottish market. Their work spans major transport infrastructure, large scale regeneration, education, heritage and civic developments, with a strong focus on creating places that leave a lasting legacy.
They are looking for an experienced architect who combines strong design sensibilities with technical credibility and leadership capability. You will take ownership of complex projects from concept through delivery, leading multidisciplinary teams and acting as a trusted advisor to clients, consultants and stakeholders. The role will suit someone who enjoys navigating complex project environments and who is motivated by the challenge of delivering architecture that has genuine social, cultural and economic impact.
You will be joining a studio where collaboration, design quality and technical excellence are valued equally. The successful candidate will play a visible role within project teams, helping to mentor and develop more junior colleagues while contributing to the continued growth and success of the Edinburgh office.
This position could suit an established Senior Architect looking to take the next step into a broader leadership role, or an existing Associate Director seeking access to larger, more complex and higher-profile projects. Strong experience delivering projects through later design stages is important, alongside the confidence to engage directly with clients and manage multiple stakeholder relationships.
The practice offers an environment where architects are trusted to take ownership, contribute ideas and influence outcomes. While design quality remains at the heart of what they do, there is also a strong emphasis on technical delivery, buildability and creating architecture that works in the real world.
Perhaps most importantly, this is an opportunity to join a business with a clear long term vision. Recent changes to the ownership structure have reinforced a commitment to succession planning and leadership development, creating genuine opportunities for ambitious individuals who want to play a meaningful role in shaping the future of the practice.
If you are looking for the chance to work on projects of national and international significance, lead talented teams and build a career within one of the industry's most respected architectural practices, I would be delighted to have a confidential conversation.
