Full Job Description

About Ardencraig Care Home

Located in Castlemilk, Glasgow, Ardencraig Care Home provides specialist care for individuals with complex physical and mental health needs. Our purpose-built home has four dedicated care units — Willow, Maple, Cedar and Oak — supporting people living with Alcohol-Related Brain Damage (ARBD), acquired brain injuries and other complex needs.

We are committed to promoting independence, dignity, recovery and a strong sense of belonging through compassionate, person-centred care.

About the Role

We are looking for a compassionate and experienced Senior Care Assistant to join our team at Ardencraig Care Home, supporting individuals living with ARBD, acquired brain injuries and other complex needs.

You will play an important role in delivering recovery-focused, person-centred support, helping individuals develop their independence, daily living skills and confidence. Working alongside the Home Manager, colleagues and wider multidisciplinary team, you will help ensure care is tailored to each person's needs, goals and recovery journey.

Please note: We are unable to provide visa sponsorship for this position. Applicants must already have the right to work in the UK.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide person-centred support that promotes independence, dignity and recovery.
  • Contribute to individual care plans, recovery goals and risk assessments.
  • Support individuals with ARBD, acquired brain injuries and other complex needs.
  • Assist with medication management in line with training, competencies and company procedures.
  • Encourage daily living skills, structured routines and community reintegration.
  • Support individuals to achieve personal goals and maximise their independence.
  • Monitor wellbeing and progress, reporting concerns or changes appropriately.
  • Work collaboratively with healthcare professionals, social workers and the wider team.
  • Guide and support colleagues in delivering recovery-focused care.
  • Maintain accurate care records and documentation.
  • Promote safeguarding, health and safety and high standards of care.

About You

We're looking for someone who is:

  • Caring, compassionate and respectful.
  • Experienced in a Senior Care Assistant or similar senior care role.
  • Experienced in supporting individuals with ARBD, acquired brain injuries or complex needs.
  • Ideally qualified to SVQ Level 3.
  • Knowledgeable about person-centred care, recovery and rehabilitation approaches.
  • Confident supporting and guiding colleagues.
  • Able to contribute to care planning and risk management.
  • A strong communicator who works effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
  • Organised and able to maintain accurate records.
  • Committed to promoting independence, dignity and positive outcomes.

What We Offer

  • £14.50 per hour.
  • Full-time position.
  • Supportive management and care team.
  • Training and ongoing development.
  • EVOLVE statutory and mandatory training.
  • Regular supervision and appraisal.
  • Company pension.
  • Early access to a portion of your earned wage with Stream.
  • Access to employee benefits, discounts and rewards through Stream.
  • On-site parking.
  • Opportunities for career development and progression.
