Are you a highly motivated and experienced Nurse ready to take on a dynamic and challenging role? We're seeking an enthusiastic senior registered nurse to step into the position of Senior Charge Nurse at our state-of-the-art National Treatment Centre.

About Us: The National Treatment Centre is a cutting-edge facility dedicated to planned orthopaedic treatment and surgeries. With inpatient and outpatient areas, including a 3-theatre surgical complex and a short stay ward, we are at the forefront of providing exceptional healthcare services. Situated adjacent to the Victoria Hospital, our facility plays a crucial role in the orthopaedic unit, comprising three wards the National Treatment Centre, Ward 31 for acute hip fractures and ward 33 for orthopaedic trauma.

Responsibilities: As a Senior Charge Nurse, you'll be the key player in providing both managerial and clinical leadership to our dedicated team. Your responsibilities will include fostering close working relationships with other orthopaedic wards, ensuring a high standard of person-centred care, and navigating the surgical pathway with finesse.

  • The ability to prioritise fluctuating workloads, competing demands and be flexible in an extremely busy environment
  •   A passionate individual with experience in leadership, management, and team collaboration
  • Knowledge of the surgical pathway and the ability to work across professional and organisational boundaries.
  •  The capacity to thrive in a busy environment, demonstrating flexibility and effective prioritisation skills
  •  Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to inspire, motivate, and lead a nursing team with passion
  • The ability to deliver on service provision, redesign, improvement and develop the performance of the team

A requirement of this post is to become a member of the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scheme Prior to appointment.

NHS Scotland is reducing their full-time working week from 37.5 to 37 hours per week from 1 April 2024 but with no change in pay.  This reduction will also be applied pro rata for part time staff.  This advert and any subsequent offer/contract of employment therefore reflects the new working hours.  However, as not all service areas will be able to adopt the 37 hour working week immediately from 1 April 2024, you may be required to work up to an additional 30 minutes per week for a temporary period for which you would be paid until the service you are working in changes rosters or working patterns to accommodate the new reduced working week.  If you have any questions or concerns, please contact the Recruiting Board.
