Full Job Description

SSEN Transmission is currently recruiting for a Senior Commercial Analyst. This role will support SSEN Transmission in delivering a network for net-zero by supporting the transition to strategic planning and assessing the impact of market reform. You will help shape the direction of the industry by ensuring our market intelligence is robust and able to support decision-making.

The key responsibilities and duties of the Senior Commercial Analyst include:

- Supporting SSEN Transmission's Approach to strategically planning the future transmission system.

- Working with stakeholders across the business and industry to understand their impacts through a better understanding of their business cases. Communicate those impacts and identify associated risks and opportunities.

- Generating and acquiring data from primary and secondary sources; quality checking data; and applying strong analytical skills to collect, interpret and analyse data as required to evidence policy positions and to support investment cases to Ofgem.

- Ensuring that accurate reports are issued with any data integrity issues resolved and interrogation and challenge of data sources as required.

- Supporting the Commercial Policy Team, and if required, the wider business, in its presentation, petition and advocacy for policy improvements., At SSEN Transmission , we take immense pride in owning and operating the high-voltage electricity transmission network across the north of Scotland. Extensive experience in research and analysis using a variety of sources to evidence your point.

- Experience of analysing the energy and electricity markets, including good understanding of the role of the different markets and funding mechanisms, such as ancillary services, Balancing markets, and Contracts for Difference (CfD).

- Strong analysis skills to collate and interpret analysis of data from different sources and produce clearly understandable outputs.

- Good written, verbal and presentation skills to interact across a wide range of stakeholders and share information clearly.

- Advanced Excel and MS Office user.
