Aberdeenshire Council is seeking an experienced and motivated Senior Community Learning and Development Worker to lead and deliver high-quality Community Learning and Development (CLD) practice across Kincardine and Mearns and Marr. This post, with the Adult Learning and Communities Team includes the key communities of Aboyne, Alford, Banchory, Huntly, Laurencekirk, Portlethen and Stonehaven.

This is an exciting opportunity to play a key leadership role in supporting individuals, families and communities to achieve positive outcomes through CLD, aligned with national priorities and local need. You will manage a team to promote, develop and deliver local learning and development opportunities.

The successful candidate will practice a person-centred approach, be well organised, confident to engage with partners and communities at all levels and demonstrate strong leadership qualities. Experience of nationally recognised accreditation including Qualification Scotland and wider achievement awards would be desirable.

The CLD Service sits within Aberdeenshire Council’s wider Education and Children’s Service. CLD is a targeted service and works with individuals and groups offering learning for people who want to make positive changes in their communities and personal lives.

Requirements

This post is regulated work with children and/or protected adults under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. The preferred candidate will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme update check. Where an individual has spent a continuous period of 3 months or more out with the UK in the last 5 years, an Overseas Criminal Record Check will be required.
