Senior Development Project Manager (Marine)

Experteer Overview In this role you shape the development of offshore transmission infrastructure across northern Scotland, guiding projects from optioning and stakeholder engagement through consenting to project definition. You will lead marine and route development activities, coordinating with regulators, industry partners and communities to de-risk and ready projects for construction. The position sits within SSEN Transmission, supporting the net-zero transition with large-scale capital offshore programs. A strong emphasis on safety, governance and cross-functional leadership underpins every delivery milestone. Pay / Benefits

• Lead marine survey, investigation and route development activities (geophysical, geotechnical, UXO, environmental and met ocean) to support route design and planning Manage offshore cable route development from optioneering to landfall assessment, including burial risk and constructability reviews Deliver marine consenting and environmental workstreams (licensing, EIA inputs, Habitats Regulations Appraisal, fisheries assessments) and mitigation strategies Build and manage relationships with regulators, Crown Estate Scotland, fisheries, ports/harbours, stakeholders, landowners and offshore operators Drive risk reduction and delivery through stakeholder engagement, procurement support, and governance reporting across marine workstreams Coordinate interfaces across multiple stakeholders and external supply chain partners in a multi-contract NEC delivery environment Ensure alignment with health and safety priorities and influence safety during design stages Tasks Extensive experience in early development phase of large offshore projects in electrical generation/transmission (ideally with consenting/regulatory exposure) Strong track record leading project interfaces across diverse stakeholder groups and external supply chain partners Advanced knowledge of project management systems, risk management and governance for large capital projects Experience with NEC contracts and multi-contract delivery models Communication skills with internal and external stakeholders at all levels, including the public Desirable: CDM 2015 knowledge, professional body membership and recognised Project Management qualification Degree qualification (advantageous) and broader professional registrations Key requirements private healthcare and gym discounts online GP and 24/7 counselling Cycle to Work scheme interest-free loans for tech/transport maternity and adoption pay, paternity leave
