Senior Finance Analyst

Rutherford Cross is delighted to support a high-profile Glasgow based organisation to appoint a Senior Financial Analyst. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced finance professional to take on a high-impact role at the centre of the organisation's financial planning and reporting activity.

Reporting to the Head of Financial Planning & Analysis, the Senior Financial Analyst will play a leading role in delivering a comprehensive, effective, and efficient management accounting service across the business.

The post offers the chance to work with senior stakeholders across a large and complex institution, producing insightful analysis to inform decision-making, resolve issues, and support the delivery of excellent financial management.

This is a key position for someone who enjoys working collaboratively, building trusted relationships between group and its subsidiaries, and ensuring colleagues have accurate, timely, relevant, and reliable information to support strong financial decision-making.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

• Coordinate month-end activity, including timetabling, transaction processing, provision of standard reports to subsidiary Finance teams, and defining the inputs required from those teams
• Own the consolidation, review, and challenge of monthly results and forecasts ahead of publication to the Executive Director of Finance and Senior Management Group
• Review balance sheet reconciliations completed within this area, supporting accuracy, assurance, and strong financial control
• Continually review management reporting, identifying opportunities to enhance information provision while improving the efficiency and automation of report preparation
• Contribute to the preparation of the consolidated budget, including analysis of submissions from subsidiary Finance teams
• Support the production of financial budget papers for senior management review and governance meetings
• Take responsibility for preparing and documenting the Going Concern assessment as part of the annual External Audit process, including evaluating assumptions, identifying key risks and mitigations, and drafting the Going Concern statement in line with applicable accounting standards
• Work closely with FP&A colleagues to obtain forecasts, cash flow projections, and supporting financial data, and liaise with External Auditors to address queries and provide evidence as required
• Play a key role in optimising the service provided by the management accounting team to subsidiary Finance teams, removing duplication and wasted effort wherever possible
• Develop a clear understanding of customer needs and work to provide effective service-level delivery
• Monitor and develop the internal control system within management accounts to support effective and accurate reporting
• Supervise one member of staff, ensuring focus on development, support, and review arrangements are in place
• As a key member of the FP&A team, act as a role model and ensure behaviours and attitudes reflect organisational values
