We are happy to discuss flexible working arrangements with applicants
Abertay is a modern university with a global outlook, rooted in its local and national communities. We have made our mark with high quality, well-directed teaching and research, and a stimulating and enriching experience for our students.
The University is seeking to appoint a Senior Payroll and Pensions Officer to lead and manage the delivery of its in-house payroll and pensions service. The successful candidate will bring an analytical mindset, a professional approach and a strong commitment to customer service. They will manage and develop the payroll and pensions function to deliver an accurate, reliable and responsive service, while identifying opportunities for improvement and providing approachable and helpful support to staff across the University.
The role has overall responsibility for the effective operation of the payroll and pensions function, overseeing monthly payroll processing, pension administration, statutory requirements, financial controls and reconciliations. The postholder will act as a key source of technical expertise, leading on complex payroll and pension matters and driving improvements to systems, processes and controls. They will also provide day-to-day line management and support to the Payroll and Pensions Officer, helping to ensure effective workload management, knowledge sharing and continuity across the service.
We are looking for an experienced payroll and pensions professional with strong technical knowledge, excellent attention to detail and the ability to communicate complex information clearly. You will be comfortable taking ownership of a busy service, working to deadlines and building effective relationships.
