Senior Philanthropy Executive

Are you a confident relationship-builder who can inspire people to make a meaningful difference for children and families across Scotland?

We are looking for a Senior Philanthropy Executive to join our Partnerships & Philanthropy team and help grow income from CHAS’s mid-level giving audience. This role will focus on building strong relationships with donors and prospects who typically give £1,500–£9,999 per year, while identifying new opportunities to grow supporter loyalty, increase giving, and develop major gift prospects.

This is an exciting opportunity for someone who enjoys thoughtful relationship management by combining compelling communication and proactive donor development. You will manage and grow a portfolio of mid-level donors, create tailored stewardship plans, spot opportunities within our supporter base, and work across CHAS to help build a strong pipeline of future philanthropic support.

The role sits within CHAS’s Partnerships & Philanthropy team and will play an important part in supporting long-term income growth and sustainability for the charity. The post can be based at any central CHAS site, but this is a flexible role that will allow for ample home and remote work. Regular (weekly) travel to meetings and events will be required in this role with some locations not easily accessed via public transport. It would be beneficial if you have a full driving license and access to a car. There may be opportunities for occasional overnight travel but this will be planned well in advance and with your consultation. 

About You

To be successful in this role, you will bring a blend of fundraising experience, excellent relationship skills and the confidence to engage supporters in a warm, thoughtful and compelling way.

You will have:

• Experience of fundraising, including a track record of securing four and five figure gifts.
• Strong relationship-building skills, with experience of increasing supporters’ financial and non-financial commitment over time.
• The ability to develop compelling proposals, presentations, and donor communications that inspire people to support a cause.
• Confidence working across teams to develop strong pipelines, identify opportunities, and translate relationships into income.
• Excellent organisation and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet agreed deadlines.
• The ability to communicate with warmth, clarity and influence — whether through writing, meetings, events, presentations or conversations with supporters.
• An understanding of data protection, GDPR and responsible supporter information management.

You do not need to have worked in children’s hospice care before, but you should be motivated by the opportunity to represent a global leader in children’s palliative care. Knowledge of hospice or paediatric palliative care would be helpful, but it is not essential.

Salary: £41,701 - £48,200 per annum (pro rata)
