Senior Planner - Tayside

Salary: Competitive

Contract: Permanent


We are recruiting a Senior Planner to join a leading construction team in Tayside, supporting the delivery of high-quality projects from bid stage through to contract completion. This is a key role ensuring project programmes are prepared, monitored, and updated, with progress effectively communicated to internal teams and stakeholders.


Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare and update project programmes for both bid and contract stages.
  • Support tender bids through programme development, site constraint appraisal, and supply chain coordination.
  • Manage programme transfer from bid to contract, including assumptions, resource calculations, and risk allowances.
  • Develop contract programmes with Project and Planning Managers, reflecting supply chain, design, procurement, and installation requirements.
  • Regularly monitor and report project progress against critical paths and internal schedules.
  • Assist with delay analysis, recovery measures, and programme updates.
  • Provide coaching and guidance to team members and contribute to planning procedure development.
  • Engage with digital teams to improve planning systems and processes, including 4D BIM.

Skills & Experience

  • Significant experience in construction planning and programming.
  • Knowledge of design, procurement, and commercial integration within projects.
  • Experience with tenders and contracts under JCT and NEC forms.
  • Proficient in Elecosoft Asta Powerproject, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Teams.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Able to independently maintain programmes and collaborate with teams to improve digital tools.
  • Full driving license.
