Full Job Description

An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced Senior Planner to join a leading construction contractor with a strong presence across the North East of Scotland and a growing portfolio of secured projects.


Based in Aberdeen, you will play a pivotal role in the planning and successful delivery of major construction projects, working closely with operational teams from tender stage through to project completion.


This position offers the chance to influence project strategy, drive programme performance, and contribute to the successful delivery of complex and high-value schemes.


Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, manage, and maintain detailed project programmes throughout the project lifecycle
  • Lead planning activities during both pre-construction and delivery phases
  • Monitor project progress, identify programme risks, and implement mitigation strategies
  • Produce and present programme reports to senior management, clients, and project stakeholders
  • Support bid and tender submissions with programme development and planning input
  • Work collaboratively with project teams to optimise sequencing, resource allocation, and project delivery
  • Analyse project performance and provide recommendations to improve efficiency and programme certainty

Candidate Requirements

  • Proven experience as a Senior Planner within the construction industry
  • Strong track record delivering building or civil engineering projects from pre-construction through to completion
  • Advanced proficiency in Asta Powerproject and/or Primavera P6
  • Excellent understanding of construction methodologies, project controls, and programme management
  • Strong analytical, communication, and stakeholder management skills
  • Ability to challenge constructively and influence project teams to achieve programme objectives
  • Relevant construction, engineering, or project management qualification
