Senior Policy Manager - Future Interconnection

Experteer Overview In this role you help shape cross-border electricity interconnection and energy policies to support a greener, more secure and more resilient UK energy system. You'll work within a collaborative team to develop innovative interconnector frameworks, offshore assets, and cross-border arrangements that enhance energy security and renewable deployment. You drive policy development and negotiation with diverse stakeholders, including international partners, to deliver measurable benefits for consumers. • Shape the future of electricity interconnection and cross-border energy policies Develop frameworks for interconnector projects and offshore hybrid assets Negotiate with stakeholders including international partners Manage a broad portfolio with competing deadlines and priorities Deliver policy development or delivery within commercial or public sectors Support energy market understanding in GB/EU contexts to improve security and renewables output Tasks Strong problem solving and analytical skills with research and recommendations Excellent written and verbal communication across audiences Experience negotiating with multiple stakeholders including international parties Portfolio management and effective prioritisation across workloads Proven policy development/delivery in a commercial or public sector Knowledge of GB and/or EU energy markets, interconnectors, offshore networks or cross-border trade Key requirements 30 days annual leave after 2 years Civil Service pension contribution Hybrid working (1 day in office currently) Flexible working hours Training and development opportunities Family-friendly policies
