Senior Production Manager

The purpose of this role is to support the Traincare Centre Manager by ensuring the efficient delivery of the Traincare Centre Maintenance Daily Plan for all customers. This includes overseeing resource planning to optimise productivity, managing production overtime to maintain efficiency and cost control, and ensuring adherence to budgetary requirements. The role is integral in driving operational excellence, maintaining cost-effectiveness, and delivering high-quality maintenance services to meet customer expectations. We'll look to you for:

• Ensure work is performed in a safe, effective manner and in accordance with the H&S at Work Act, Rules and Regulations, Railway Group Standards and Alstom Policies and Procedures.
• Direct Production Managers so as to ensure efficient utilisation of staff and resources in order to achieve contractual targets and targets as may be set by the Traincare Centre Manager from time to time.
• Review work plans with Production Managers to ensure daily production targets are met as effectively and efficiently as possible.
• Maintain good industrial relations within area of responsibility, implementing disciplinary procedures for any serious staff irregularities - maintain a well-disciplined work force.
• Proactive in identifying areas for improvement by personal check, analysis of trains incident reports and complaints, initiating action to ensure improvements.
• Assist in the preparation of manpower forecasts, Production Budgets and effectively control costs.
• Carry out Technical, Quality, Safety and General briefings as necessary.
• Plan and control leave entitlement for Production Managers within set guidelines in order to meet the Business Plan.
• Encourage continual professional development for staff within your areas of responsibility.
• Ensure, by means of audit, that contractors meet the requirements of the business.
• Managing organisational change in order to optimise working practices and thus ensure a productive workforce.

• Relevant technical or engineering qualifications or equivalent
• Demonstrated experience in a production, maintenance, or operational environment, ideally within rail, transport, or a related industry.
• Proven track record of managing maintenance schedules and resources efficiently.
