Our client is a highly respected, family-owned fit-out subcontractor with an outstanding reputation across Scotland's construction sector. Working in partnership with many of the UK's leading Tier 1 contractors, they deliver high-profile projects across commercial, education, healthcare, leisure and public sector environments.Due to continued growth and a strong pipeline of secured work, they are looking to appoint a Senior Quantity Surveyor or Managing Quantity Surveyor to play a key role in the commercial leadership of the business.

Your new role
As Senior QS/Managing QS, you will take commercial responsibility for a number of significant fit-out packages on some of Scotland's most prestigious construction projects.Working closely with senior management, project teams and key clients, you will lead commercial activities from pre-construction through to final account while also mentoring and developing a small team of Quantity Surveyors.

Key responsibilities will include:

• Commercial management of multiple fit-out projects
• Preparation and negotiation of valuations, variations and final accounts
• Contract administration and risk management
• Cost forecasting and reporting to senior leadership
• Subcontract procurement and management
• Building and maintaining strong client relationships
• Mentoring, developing and supporting junior commercial staff
• Contributing to the strategic growth and commercial performance of the business

What you'll need to succeed

• Proven experience as a Senior Quantity Surveyor or Managing Quantity Surveyor
• Strong construction or fit-out sector experience
• Excellent commercial and contractual knowledge
• Experience working with Tier 1 contractors and major construction projects
• Strong leadership and team management capabilities
• Commercially astute with excellent communication skills
• Ambitious and motivated to play a key role in a growing business
