Full Job Description

We are seeking an experienced and motivational Service Manager to lead our Mental Health Services in Angus. This key role will oversee two dedicated teams; The Beacon Community Wellbeing Centre and Angus Mental Health Peer Support Service (see service descriptors for more details).The staff teams are made up of:Senior Support Workers – Qualified to SVQ Level 3 and aboveProject Workers – Qualified to SVQ Level 2Peer Workers – Individuals with lived experience of mental health challengesYou will be responsible for the day to day operations and staff management of the services, ensuring high-quality support for individuals experiencing mental health difficulties. You will be part of a management team, working with commissioners and other partners to drive the strategic direction of both services.Key ResponsibilitiesProvide leadership and strategic oversight of the serviceManage and support staff teams, ensuring professional development and wellbeingEnsure compliance with health and safety and all legal and regulatory requirementsRepresent the organisation at conferences, forums, and stakeholder eventsDeliver internal and external training to promote best practiceMonitor service performance and implement continuous improvement initiativesWe’re looking for someone who is:Energetic, driven and passionate about mental healthSkilled in prioritising competing demands and managing complex workloadsExperienced in staff management, service delivery and strategic planningConfident in public speaking and stakeholder engagementCommitted to inclusive, trauma-informed, and recovery-focused practiceSVQ Level 4 or equivalent in Health & Social Care, Management or related field or willing to work towards thisProven experience in managing mental health or social care servicesStrong understanding of legislation and best practice in mental health supportExcellent communication, leadership and organisational skillsExperience working with peer-led or lived experience teamsTraining delivery or public speaking experienceKnowledge of the Angus area and local mental health landscapeAbout the BenefitsPension SchemeGenerous Holiday EntitlementComprehensive Health and Well-being PackageFree access to online discounts for well-known retailersDeath in Service Benefit (up to three times your salary)Cycle to Work Scheme (great savings from 25% - 39% on bikes and accessories)Tech Scheme (great savings of up to 12% on computers or laptops)SponsorshipPlease note that Hillcrest Futures do not hold a licence to sponsor any visa applications at present., None specified
