Full Job Description

Inspection and Maintenance:

  • Portable fire extinguishers

  • Fire hoses & hydrants.

  • Foam making equipment.

  • Fixed gaseous fire systems.

  • Water-foam based fire systems.

  • Wet chemical fire systems

  • Fire system cylinders.

  • Breathing apparatus

  • Breathing air compressors


  • Other Duties
  • Conducting firefighting foam sample testing

  • Safety equipment inspection and inventory recording

  • Customer interactions and planning work scopes

  • Liaising with wider service teams

  • Compiling service reports

  • Additional tasks as assigned by management.

    Experience in a similar role.

  • Competence with fire protection equipment and suppression systems as listed.

  • Strong communication and numeracy skills

  • Willingness to travel Offshore when required (often at short notice for 1-2-week trips)

  • Self-motivated with good IT skills

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

  • Customer-focused approach

  • Knowledge of fire and safety legislation

  • Interest in the Marine and Offshore fire safety industry

  • Offshore survival certification (BOSIET)

  • OG UK Medical certification

This role is part of Johnson Controls Global Marine & Offshore Service and will join our team of experienced service technicians in maintaining firefighting equipment. Primarily based in the Aberdeen workshop, this role also involves offshore and marine service visits.
