Social Care Assistant
Gilbertson Day Centre
17.5 hours per week
Permanent
£30,060 - £30,662 pro rata
£16.47 - £16.80 per hour
The above amounts include Distant Islands Allowance
You will be reporting to the Senior Day Centre Officer.
Your working pattern is Monday to Friday 3.5 hours per day. We are happy to talk flexible working, where possible.
The purpose of this role is to to undertake social care duties at the Gilbertson Day Centre.
The Gilbertson Day Centre is in Kirkwall and provides day care to the frail, elderly and those with dementia.
The necessary qualification, experience and skills required for this role are an SVQ2 (SCQF Level 6) in Health and Social Care, or other relevant qualification to enable registration with the SSSC as a Support Worker in a Care Home Service for Adults. Where the essential qualification is not held you should be able to achieve this within 3 years of appointment.
This post involves a contractual requirement to register with the SSSC within 3 months of appointment.
You should be able to travel efficiently and effectively between work locations within Orkney to meet the operational requirements of the Service.
This post is a regulated role with protected adults and requires Level 2 Disclosure with PVG scheme membership.
