Hours: 37 Hours Per Week
Duration: Permanent
Salary: £34,458 - £38,210 p.a.

Salary placing will normally be at the first point of the scale.

Job Purpose: At Arach, we believe that every child deserves the chance to flourish regardless of their background and the circumstances that have brought them to live with us. The children we support are presently not able to live with their own families and many of them have suffered from trauma and loss in their young lives.
 
Our residential house offers Crisis and emergency care to up to 4 YP, as our children are with us short term the care team are required to build relationships quickly, support and nurture the YP in a loving and compassionate way, ensuring they feel safe, cared for and loved. Our experienced team of staff work really hard to create a comfortable home for the young people where they can grow and flourish.
The team at Arach have a passion for improving young people's lives, empathy and experience in trauma-informed care. The ability to advocate for all our young people, they are creative, proactive, and willing to bring new ideas to support their journey.

This role involves working in a residential care setting, providing round-the-clock support to young people.

All staff are required to be registered with the SSSC. Training will be offered if required to meet the registration requirements and in addition to this we will ensure all staff have a good grounding in trauma informed practice and approaches. This will be achieved by a program of training based on Dan Huges models of interventions.

Requirements

  1. Good general education, ideally have a HNC in Social Care SVQ3 or equivalent
  2. Experience of working with children and young people and or relevant life experience
  3. Willingness and ability to register with the Scottish Social Services Council and to train to their required standard (a minimum of HNC/SVQ Level 3 in an appropriate subject) and commit to ongoing training and development
