Full Job Description

Street Soccer Scotland exists to tackle social exclusion. We make people welcome, provide purpose, make friends and form positive relationships, regaining their confidence as they look to move on in life.

Our adult players can often experience issues around mental health, homelessness, long term unemployment and other forms of social exclusion, regardless everyone is welcome and quickly become part of the Street Soccer family.  Our youth players may also have challenges in life and we aim to provide a safe, welcoming environment where they can find support and stability as well as the free football they have come for.

Our youth programmes are based around the needs of the young people, using our years of experience of working with marginalised groups, we provide sport, predominantly football, and a range of personal development initiatives, including our own SCQF programme, to positively improve their lives.

You will help us to bring all our programmes working with young people under one umbrella, to share knowledge and experience and to build a strong dynamic programme that will not only improve the lives of the young people now but help position them on a positive pathway, as they move into adulthood.

You will be working with our group of experienced coaches, already engaged in the programmes and will be expected to pull together the programme into one product that will be promoted to young people and organisations in the sector.

You will be based in the central belt or north east of Scotland and will deliver Young Persons programmes locally as well as taking the lead on programme development nationally. You will work closely with our other Young Person coaches to gain and share an understanding of the existing programmes and how they operate. You will get an understanding of the guidelines and legislation required to work with young people and ensure that our programme meets all criteria set.

You will also be expected to keep up to date with developments and changes that impact young people and explore opportunities for Street Soccer to address these, using our flexible approach.

This is an exciting new opportunity to join one of Scotland’s foremost Social Enterprises, come and join our family.
