Salary: £37,626 - £44,257
Hours: 36 per week

We believe that every child and young person deserves the best possible start in life. Our aim is for Edinburgh's children to be safe, healthy, nurtured, educated, active and respected. Our children's practice teams are at the forefront of providing services to help children, young people and their families deal with difficult situations at various stages in their lives: whether in need of child protection; looked after at or away from home; or at risk of becoming excluded from school or becoming looked after.

Located in the South West Children and Families Practice Team, the post holder will take a lead role in assessing families who present as destitute and have no recourse to public funds. They will develop effective support packages for children and their families and offer advice, support and guidance as necessary.

The post holder will also act as a resource to the Communities and Families Department offering advice and guidance to managers and staff regarding immigration legislation as it impacts on children and families with no recourse to public funds. The role may be subject to change as part of a current re-design of Children's Services., Our salary range typically reflects the initial starting salary and annually increases until it reaches the top of the range.
