Position

An opportunity has arisen for 2 specialist physiotherapists to join our Orthopaedic Trauma physiotherapy team based at University Hospital Crosshouse, Kilmarnock.

What you will do:

As an enthusiastic and experienced senior clinician, you will work in a team who specialise in the management of acute orthopaedic conditions and surgery, providing specialist physiotherapy care and rehabilitation to individuals recovering from surgery, illness or injury. You will lead in the planning and facilitation of complex discharges in a safe and timely manner, whilst working closely with the other members of the multi-disciplinary team. You will provide clinical and profession support to the rotational and healthcare support members of our team, and contribute to practice-based learning of undergraduate physiotherapy students. You will provide support to the Team Lead and Clinical Lead in the day to day organisation of the team and development of the physiotherapy service.

Knowledge, training and/or experience required to do the job:

You must be HCPC registered and have relevant clinical experience in the acute hospital environment, and possess advanced assessment and rehabilitation skills in orthopaedic and musculoskeletal physiotherapy. You will be competent and comfortable working in a fast paced setting with a large and often unpredictable patient caseload. Excellent clinical reasoning, communication, leadership, team working, organisational and time management skills are essential. An interest in service review and quality improvement is desirable. Car owner/driver is essential, and participation in the evening and weekend Out of Hours on call rota is required.

Hours:

Post 1: Permanent: 37 hours per week

Post 2: Temporary Maternity leave cover: 26.7 hours per week

Our team provide a physiotherapy service from 8am - 6pm Monday - Friday, and so there is a need for flexible working across our registered staff to be able to support these extended hours.
