The Role
As Spectator Information & Engagement Specialist, you’ll play a key role in shaping how audiences experience Glasgow 2026 before and during the Games. Working as part of the Marketing and Communications team, you’ll support the delivery of clear, engaging and impactful communications for ticketed and non-ticketed spectators across sport, the Glasgow 2026 Festival, city activation activity and Live Sites.
Collaboration will sit at the heart of the role as you work closely with colleagues across the Organising Company, Glasgow Life, city stakeholders and external partners to help deliver a joined-up and memorable spectator experience. Bringing together information from multiple teams and translating it into audience-focused communications will be central to success, alongside ensuring messaging remains aligned with the wider Games narrative and Glasgow 2026 brand standards.
Operating within a fast-paced and evolving environment, you’ll coordinate communication activity across multiple channels including website, CRM, social media, WhatsApp and customer information platforms. Alongside managing day-to-day communications planning and delivery, you’ll also support Games-time spectator engagement, helping ensure audiences receive timely, accurate and welcoming information throughout their Glasgow 2026 experience.
Job Summary
Joining Glasgow 2026 as Spectator Information & Engagement Specialist offers a brilliant opportunity to help shape the public-facing voice of one of the world’s biggest sporting and cultural events. Strong planning, coordination and communication skills will be essential as you support the delivery of integrated spectator communications across a complex and evolving Games environment.
Day-to-day responsibilities will include coordinating communication plans, supporting cross-functional working groups, managing key messaging and helping ensure spectator information is impactful, accessible and audience-focused across all channels. A collaborative and proactive approach will be important, particularly when balancing multiple priorities and coordinating activity across a broad range of internal teams and external partners.
Success in this role will come from building strong relationships, maintaining excellent attention to detail and bringing energy and professionalism to every stage of delivery. Experience working within marketing, communications or customer-focused environments will help you thrive, particularly within major events, sport or large-scale cultural programmes that require pace, precision and adaptability. Key Skills and Experience
To succeed in this role, you’ll bring proven experience in marketing or communications within a fast-paced and complex environment, with the ability to deliver impactful consumer-facing messaging to an exceptional standard.
Experience working with partners, stakeholders and creative teams or agencies will be essential, alongside the confidence to manage relationships and coordinate activity across a wide range of contributors.
Strong communication skills will enable you to engage effectively with diverse stakeholders, while a highly organised and structured approach will support the management of multiple priorities and deadlines. Experience working across marketing channels, including websites, apps, CRM platforms, social media and direct marketing activity, would be highly beneficial.
Experience managing dynamic communications within a customer-service environment would be advantageous, particularly within major events, sporting events or large-scale cultural programmes. A collaborative mindset, excellent attention to detail and the ability to remain calm and adaptable within a fast-moving environment will also help you succeed within the team.
