Full Job Description

NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde is one of the largest healthcare systems in the UK employing around 40,000 staff in a wide range of clinical and non-clinical professions and job roles. We deliver acute hospital, primary, community and mental health care services to a population of over 1.15 million and a wider population of 2.2 million when our regional and national services are included.

This is a fixed term position for 6 months.

An exciting opportunity has arisen within Speech and Language Therapy NHSGGC, for a temporary (6 month contract) Band 6 Speech and Language Therapist,  to work within the award winning New Stobhill ACH and Glasgow Royal Infirmary. You would be part of our busy and innovative departments treating a wide variety of patients across both outpatient and acute settings.

This is an excellent opportunity to develop skills in both an outpatient setting and acute wards, working within a great team of SLTs, Healthcare Support Workers and Administrative staff who are motivated to achieve the best possible outcomes for all clients/carers. We welcome applicants who are keen to participate in delivering innovative assessment and therapy approaches within the above settings to join our forward thinking, supportive Speech and Language Therapy team.

It is essential that you have a degree in Speech and Language Therapy with current HCPC registration and must be trained in the assessment and management of adult dysphagia. The successful candidate will be required to participate in our pioneering weekend working rota and have the opportunity to volunteer for our public holiday rota.
