Full Job Description

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Band 5 Staff Nurse in Balcurvie Ward, Cameron Hospital.   Balcurvie Ward is part of the Recovery and Adaptation Unit which provides rehabilitation for the Older Person and facilitates complex discharge planning in the Community Hospital setting.

We are seeking to recruit a nurse who will develop skills in Medicine of the Elderly and work closely with all members of the multi-disciplinary team to promote a positive patient journey.

You will be joining a well established and experienced nursing team, and you will demonstrate a keen interest and motivation for caring for the older person and rehabilitation.

For further information please contact Senior Charge Nurse Lynne Christie on or Charge Nurse Karla Murray on

NHS Scotland is reducing their full-time working week from 37.5 to 37 hours per week from 1 April 2024 but with no change in pay.  This reduction will also be applied pro rata for part time staff.  Your offer/contract of employment will therefore reflect the new working hours.  However, as not all service areas will be able to adopt the 37 hour working week immediately from 1 April 2024, you may be required to work up to an additional 30 minutes per week for a temporary period for which you would be paid until the service you are working in changes rosters or working patterns to accommodate the new reduced working week.  If you have any questions or concerns, please contact your Hiring Manager.

A requirement of this post is to become a member of the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scheme Prior to appointment.
