We're working with a leading organisation operating at the forefront of large-scale, complex engineering programmes. They are seeking a Subcontract Programme Manager to play a pivotal role in delivering high-value subcontracted services within a major infrastructure project.This is a fantastic opportunity to join a high-profile programme environment, where you'll take ownership of critical supplier relationships and drive delivery across a portfolio of strategically important contracts.
Your new role
You'll take responsibility for the end-to-end management of subcontracted services, from initial sourcing and tendering through to delivery and contract close-out.Working closely with suppliers, internal delivery teams, and senior stakeholders, you'll ensure contracts are delivered on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards, while proactively managing risk and maximising commercial outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the delivery of high-value on-site subcontract packages
- Oversee supplier performance, ensuring achievement of KPIs and contract obligations
- Lead regular progress reviews and reporting to senior stakeholders
- Identify and mitigate programme and commercial risks
- Support dispute resolution and commercial claims processes
- Ensure compliance with safety, health and environmental standards
- Act as a key interface between suppliers and internal delivery teams, fostering a collaborative "one team" approach.
What you'll need to succeed
You'll bring strong experience in contract and supplier management within a complex, regulated environment.Essential experience includes:
- Proven background in subcontract or contract management within sectors such as engineering, defence, aerospace, infrastructure, or automotive
- Strong understanding of procurement principles and supply chain best practice
- Experience managing contracts through their full lifecycle
- Knowledge of contractual frameworks (e.g. NEC or similar)
- Ability to manage stakeholders at all levels and influence outcomes
- Commercial awareness with the ability to manage risk and resolve disputes
