Support Officer – Early Learning and Childcare
Education Services | Falkirk Council
Falkirk Council is seeking to recruit a Support Officer to work within the Early Learning and Childcare (ELC) Team in Education Services.
The postholder will play a key role in delivering high‑quality administrative support to the ELC Team, with a strong focus on ensuring our services run smoothly and efficiently. You’ll oversee the full recruitment and onboarding journey for all ELC staff, support SSSC registration, coordinate ELC supply, and help maintain an excellent learning environment. This includes managing resources, ordering supplies, and processing invoices to keep everything operating seamlessly.
While the post is based within the ELC Team, the Support Officer will be required to work flexibly across Education Services to meet service demands and support service delivery.
Applicants must be able to demonstrate substantial relevant experience and a proven track record of working in a similar administrative or support role. Knowledge and understanding of Early Learning and Childcare policies and procedures is desirable, as would experience of working with recruitment and financial records and processes.
This is a full-time post, working 37 hours per week, and is temporary until 31 May 2028, due to service and budget requirements. The post is based at Falkirk Community Stadium as well as having the option to work hybrid. For internal candidates this could be considered as a secondment if agreed by your line manager.
Please apply if you have the following:-
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- The ability to manage competing and conflicting demands and prioritise tasks effectively
- Strong organisational and time management skills
- A high level of accuracy and attention to detail
- The ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
- Experience of working with confidential and sensitive information
- Competence in the use of IT systems, including Microsoft Office applications
- The ability to work flexibly and respond positively to changing service demands
