Bethany Christian Trust is looking for a part-time male support worker to be part of our Short-Term Housing Support team.Short-term housing support helps people keep their tenancy, giving practical support to help people manage their home and daily life. Support is person-centred, which means we tailor it to individual needs and goals. The successful post holder will work as part of a team delivering flexible and person-centred support to people in a wide variety of situations to meet their housing needs.The successful candidate will work as part of a team delivering flexible, person-centred support to individuals in a variety of situations, helping them meet their housing-related needs and achieve positive outcomes.You will have a proven record as a team player with excellent communication skills; you will have experience and knowledge of the service user group and their surrounding issues. You will be passionate about supporting people to achieve greater independence and you will be able to build positive relationships with people from a wide range of backgrounds. We would welcome applicants with lived experience of these issues. Competence in the use of Microsoft office tools is essential. An SVQ 3 in Social Care, Promoting Independence or equivalent as listed by SSSC as appropriate for a ‘Housing Practitioner’ is desirable; the willingness to work towards this is essential.As Bethany is a Christian organisation, this post carries an Occupational Requirement in line with Equality Act 2010.
