Support Worker / Personal Assistant

Recruiting for a minimum of 3 Personal Assistants for 24.5 hours a week each, with option given to negotiate part time If able to work less hours regularly and reliably. Additional hours including ad hoc night support may be offered if desired with notice and flexibility., A Support Worker / Personal Assistant is required to support a disabled, wheelchair-using man in his own home. The role will involve providing a combination of personal care, moving and handling, and practical assistance with daily living and social support, helping him to maintain his comfort, dignity and independence while accessing his community. Tasks will include:

• Assisting with full personal care, including toileting, washing, showering, dressing and grooming, as required.
• Supporting daily routines and activities within the home.
• Assisting with wheelchair-related mobility and transfers using a fixed hoisting system, in accordance with the individual's care plan.
• Supervising during meals and tasks associated with daily living.
• Administering and recording medications as required.
• Providing companionship and social support.
• Supporting access to appointments and activities in the community.
• Helping to maintain a safe, comfortable and tidy home environment.
• Any other duties required within the role of Support Worker / Personal Assistant may be included.
  
  Shift pattern: Mixed shifts available. Specific days and times to be agreed. Casual worker contracts possible, but preference would be for regular, consistent shift patterns. Shifts patterns and hours will be flexible, around the successful candidate(s).
Rate of Pay: £13.45 per hour
