Carronhill School is a Complex Needs Provision, serving South Aberdeenshire pupils aged 5-18 years old who are predominately working at Pre-Early Level.  The preferred candidate will have an inquisitive mind and will be able to look inwards and outwards at their own and others’ practice to ensure that they are meeting the environment for each learner that they teach, using differentiation and the fundamentals of communication in all that they do.  Their values will align with that of the school’s, and they will be able to work with and direct a team in their own classroom to ensure that the team function to get it right for each individual pupil whilst ensuring that the team are well informed of the progress and direction planned for each child.

Requirements

This post is regulated work with children and/or protected adults under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. The preferred candidate will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme update check. Where an individual has spent a continuous period of 3 months or more out with the UK in the last 5 years, an Overseas Criminal Record Check will be required. You will be required to provide this check. A confirmed offer of employment and commencement in the post will be subject to the outcome of both these pre-employment checks being deemed satisfactory.

Salary for this post will be in accordance with SNCT agreements. Applicants must be or eligible to be fully GTC Scotland registered. If you qualified as a Teacher out with Scotland, please visit GTCS – Qualified Outside Scotland and review the GTCS FAQs for more information around obtaining registration with the General Teaching Council Scotland.
