Do you have a passion for making a meaningful difference in people’s lives? Do you thrive in a fast‑paced environment where you can think on your feet, work flexibly, and deliver person‑centred support? If so, we would love to hear from you.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Team Leader to join our Crisis Response Service which is part of the Support at Home Service. Support at home services are community‑based, delivering support within people’s own homes. This is a rewarding and varied role where no two days are the same. You should enjoy working with people, demonstrate empathy, and be committed to delivering high‑quality care within the community.

Key responsibilities within the role are:

  • Leading and supporting a team of staff within a 24‑hour service
  • Conducting team meetings and staff supervisions
  • Completing Personal Development Plans to ensure staff remain fit to practice
  • Managing sickness absence and participating in disciplinary processes where required
  • Exercising initiative and sound decision‑making within service policies, standards, and objectives

It is essential that candidate have the following:

  • Experience supervising employees and managing competing service demands
  • Strong communication skills
  • Good literacy and numeracy skills
  • Confident using a range of IT systems
  • Full driving licence

If not already achieved, successful candidates must commit to completing SVQ Level 3 in Health and Social Care (or equivalent), along with the PDA in Supervision.

This position requires registration with the SSSC. The successful candidate will have six months from the date of commencement of this post to become registered with the SSSC. SSSC stipulate you must submit your application within three months of your start date. If you are already registered with SSSC you will be required to add West Lothian Council to your account

This post is considered Regulated Work with children and/or protected adults under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scotland Act 2007. From 28 February 2011 preferred candidates will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme update check prior to a formal offer of employment being made by West Lothian Council
