Team Leader - Education Wellbeing Service
Waverley Court

Hours: 36 per week
Salary: £47,639 - £56,392 (pro rata for part time)

An opportunity has arisen to recruit for a Team Leader for the Education Wellbeing Service (EWS).

Accountable to the Service Manager, Mental Health and Wellbeing, the post holder will ensure a high quality of service practise is provided and maintained; provide professional support, supervision and leadership to a team of Education Wellbeing Officers (EWO's); engage with the wider inclusion leadership team and Team Leaders and managers in other services; to work together coherently within the GIRFEC framework.

The EWS assist schools to implement our local authority maximising school attendance policy by working in collaboration with schools, children, young people and their families to achieve the best outcomes by supporting health and wellbeing and address barriers to attending school. The service operates through 4 core functions of Consultation and Advice, Assessment and Intervention, Data for Improvement and Professional Learning. The Team Leader for EWS coordinates this work as well as a variety of tasks and functions for the local authority. These include CME, MARAC, EEI, absence requests due to exceptional circumstances, part-time timetables, hosting's, transition and parent education and wellbeing programmes.

The successful candidate will have experience of leading and managing the strategic development of a service and or teams of staff who will have experience of stakeholder engagement and communication. They would benefit from experience of using data to drive decisions and direct work, of building support for services through stakeholder engagement and contribution to locality priorities through workstreams, of managing quality assurance and monitoring of service delivery and of working with communities to co-construct collaborative approaches to enable families to "get the right support at the right time"

This post is regulated work with children and/or protected adults under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. The preferred candidate will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme update check. Where an individual has spent a continuous period of 3 months or more out with the UK in the last 5 years, an Overseas Criminal Record Check will be required. You will be required to provide this check. An unconditional offer of employment and commencement in the post will be subject to the outcome of both these pre-employment checks being deemed satisfactory.
