Hourly rate of pay: £26.91 - £30.30

Temporary until 2nd June 2025.
Days and Hours of Work:
To be confirmed with candidate, to meet the needs of the service.
Days of work are negotiable, flexi time is applicable, and starting and finishing times are flexible.

We are looking for a passionate and committed Connected Communities Manager to tackle the impacts of poverty and inequality in our Connected Communities team in Fa'side. This is an excellent opportunity to make a real difference, by connecting with other services, Elected Members, communities and a range of local partners and stakeholders, to work in a collective and cohesive manner to address our challenges. You will lead a small and enthusiastic team helping to identify and tackle challenges and local priorities contained in the Council Plan, the Fa'side Area Partnership plan and the Community Learning and Development Plan. You will engage with communities to empower and work preventively to help reduce inequalities and tackle the impacts of poverty.

Job Details

In support of East Lothian’s ‘growth’ agenda, take a lead role by managing and co ordinating community links in an allocated geographic area, supporting community capacity building and cohesion to make a demonstrable difference to achieving the Council and Community Partnership’s desired community outcomes.

Enabling the development of strong local networks and links with key Council services, including schools, strategic partners (e.g. Police and Health) and community organisations to work as effectively as possible to deliver positive outcomes and help reduce inequalities.

Ensuring robust governance and support for the local Area Partnership and Community Councils, to develop, implement and monitor Area Plan priorities in line with the Council’s Local Outcome Improvement Plan (LOIP) commitments and in accordance with Council policies and procedures.

Job Requirements

Relevant Qualifications
Educated to Degree level in relevant discipline (eg Community Development) and/or able to demonstrate equivalent knowledge, skills and competencies gained through relevant experience.

Evidence of a commitment to Continual Professional Development.
