Full Job Description

We are seeking an experienced and commercially astute Technical Lifecycle Project Manager to lead the delivery of lifecycle replacement, capital investment and minor works projects across a major NHS acute hospital estate. Working within a live healthcare environment, the successful candidate will be responsible for the planning, procurement, management and delivery of a diverse portfolio of projects, ensuring assets remain safe, compliant, operational and fit for purpose throughout their lifecycle. The role requires strong technical, commercial and project management skills, coupled with the ability to effectively engage with NHS stakeholders, clinical teams, contractors and specialist consultants. Project Leadership & Delivery:

  • Lead the successful delivery of lifecycle, refurbishment, capital replacement and minor works projects across the hospital estate. Manage projects through their full lifecycle from inception through handover. Develop project scopes, specifications,
  • programmes, budgets and resource plans.
  • Ensure projects are delivered safely, on time, within budget and to agreed quality standards. Monitor project risks, opportunities, dependencies and change control processes. Prepare project reports and performance updates for senior management and client representatives. Coordinate multiple projects whilst maintaining operational continuity. Technical Management: Provide technical oversight and assurance throughout the project lifecycle. Review project scopes, specifications, designs and contractor proposals to ensure suitability, compliance and value for money. Ensure compliance with relevant legislation, statutory requirements, healthcare guidance and industry best practice. Support lifecycle planning activities through the development and delivery of asset replacement and improvement programmes. Coordinate internal and external technical specialists to ensure successful project outcomes. Ensure commissioning, testing, certification and
  • handover activities are completed in accordance with project requirements.
  • Maintain accurate project records and documentation. Identify and manage technical risks and mitigation measures.

    Degree, HND or equivalent qualification in a relevant technical discipline OR significant demonstrable experience delivering construction, lifecycle or capital projects. Proven experience managing multiple construction, engineering, lifecycle or capital projects. Experience working within operational healthcare, PFI, FM or critical infrastructure environments. Strong understanding of CDM Regulations 2015 and Health and Safety legislation. Knowledge of SHTMs, SHBNs and healthcare engineering standards. Strong stakeholder management skills with experience engaging clients, contractors, consultants and operational teams. Demonstrable experience of project risk management including identification, mitigation, monitoring and reporting. Experience of project governance, change control and reporting processes. Experience managing contractors and specialist suppliers. Strong commercial awareness with experience managing project budgets, forecasting and cost control. Excellent
  • communication, negotiation and influencing skills.
  • Full UK Driving Licence.
