Full Job Description
£37,682 - £44,248 plus temporary RRA (recruitment retention allowance of £1500 per annum until the maximum of the pay band is reached then £1000 is given.
An exciting opportunity has arisen within HMP Perth as we recruit for a Technical Manager - Electrical to join the Estates Team. The Technical manager will manage the maintenance team workload through our computerised maintenance management system (CMMS) to ensure the estate complies with statutory regulations and service level agreements. The role involves planning and directing Engineers and Operatives to carry out reactive and planned preventative maintenance (PPM), installation work and routine and complex electrical repairs. The Technical Manager will plan and monitor local and national contracts. There are additional procurement responsibilities with Local contracts.
If you have the following, we would like to hear from you:
- Have served a recognised apprenticeship and obtained a qualification in an electrical discipline to a minimum of SVQ Level 3 or equivalent. (Essential)
- Hold a current electrical qualification in electrical installations, for example City and Guilds 2382. Willing to undertake BS7671 (18th Edition) if not a current holder. (Essential)
- Experience in the installation, repair, maintenance, test and inspection of electrical systems in an industrial / commercial environment.
- Experience in demonstrating your organisational skills, demonstrating your ability to prioritise, forward plan and manage competing demands to ensure outputs are delivered on time
- Sound knowledge in Health and Safety
- Excellent problem-solving skills and your ability to provide practical and creative solutions to a range of resourcing and technical issues.
