The Role  

As the Technology Support Coordinator you will help to ensure smooth day-to-day IT operations across the office by providing technical support to staff, assisting with technology onboarding processes, and acting as a key liaison with our external IT services provider.  

Working closely with internal teams, external suppliers, and public and private sector delivery partners, you will ensure that critical systems - including office technology and technology at Games time -are supported promptly, securely, and inclusively. 

Job Summary:  

Reporting to the IT Operations Manager, you’ll play a key role in supporting day-to-day technology services across the Organising Company. You’ll provide first-line IT support to staff, helping to resolve issues across devices, applications and connectivity, and ensuring colleagues can work effectively in a fast-paced environment. 

You’ll support the setup and ongoing use of IT equipment, including computers, printers, phones and audio-visual systems, as well as managing the distribution and tracking of hardware across office locations.

Working closely with IT service partners, you’ll help coordinate the deployment, maintenance and availability of technology assets, ensuring accurate records and reliable service. 

You’ll also take an active role in maintaining meeting spaces, regularly checking and testing AV equipment to ensure everything is ready for key meetings and events. Alongside this, you’ll monitor incidents and service requests, escalating issues where needed and supporting continuous service improvement. 

During Games time, you’ll provide hands-on operational support across venues, helping to keep technology running smoothly when it matters most. You’ll build strong working relationships with colleagues and suppliers, offering in-person support and contributing to a collaborative team environment. 

As with all roles at Glasgow 2026, responsibilities will evolve as plans develop, offering the opportunity to support a wide range of activities across the Technology and Broadcast programme. 

Key Skills and Experience:  

We’re looking for someone with experience in IT support or a similar coordination role, who is confident supporting users across devices, applications and everyday technology. 

You’ll have a solid understanding of core IT infrastructure, including connecting devices, configuring printers and working with cloud-based platforms such as SharePoint or Google Drive.

Basic knowledge of audio-visual equipment will help you support meeting spaces and events effectively, alongside strong organisational skills and clear documentation practices. 

Experience with IT Service Management tools, such as ServiceNow or similar ticketing systems, would be beneficial, particularly where you’ve supported incident management and service requests. 

You’ll also bring strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to provide clear, supportive one-to-one assistance to users. 

As a person, you’ll be collaborative and team-focused, contributing positively in a fast-paced environment where priorities can shift quickly. 

You’ll be a clear communicator with a practical, problem-solving mindset, able to diagnose and resolve issues efficiently. 

You’ll take pride in being organised and detail-oriented, while remaining flexible and resilient as demands evolve.

Salary: Starting salary is from £28,325. Salary offered will be based on demonstrated skills and experience related to this role.
