ScotRail is recruiting Train Presentation Team Members to join the team responsible for preparing our trains for service. Our Train Presentation department carries out essential presentation work, making sure every ScotRail train is clean, safe, and ready for customers before it goes into service. In this hands‑on role, you’ll help prepare trains for customers, support the wider engineering function, and contribute directly to a comfortable, reliable journey experience for millions of passengers each year.
In this role, you will:
* Deliver all aspects of train cleaning in line with ScotRail’s presentation standards and service quality requirements.
* Identify and report defects to support a safe and comfortable customer experience.
* Follow all safety procedures, risk assessments, and wear appropriate PPE.
* Participate in safety initiatives and contribute to a positive safety culture.
* Use IT systems where required and undertake any duties directed by the Team Leader.
What you bring
Essential:
* Demonstrated understanding of safety procedures and ability to follow them in daily work
* The ability to work effectively within a team while using initiative to deliver excellent standards.
* Ability to follow risk assessments, wear required PPE and work safely at all times.
* Communication skills with the ability to engage with colleagues at all levels.
* Full UK driving licence is essential for positions based at Motherwell and Mobile roles but is not required for all Glasgow depot locations.
Desirable:
* Previous experience of working in a cleaning, or transport cleaning environment
* An understanding of Health & Safety or COSHH however full training will be provided.
* A full UK driving licence and access to your own transport due to the nature of our shift patterns.
Hours of work: 35-hour week. These roles operate on a two-shift pattern, comprising day shift and back shift. Depending on service requirements and location, some posts may also involve nightshift working.
We offer an attractive reference salary of £35,757 per annum on completion of training. The trainee salary is £34,452 per annum.
Selection Process
Candidates short-listed will be invited to attend a competency-based interview. All offers are subject to passing our pre-employment checks which include a criminal record check, medical and referencing. If successful you will be appointed to a depot within the Glasgow area.
Medical Fitness: Due to the nature of the post and rail industry safety requirements there are certain medical & fitness standards that you would require to meet for positions based at Eastfield, Airdrie and Motherwell.
